Perimenopause is a transitory phase that occurs about 4 years before a woman reaches the menopause stage. In this stage the ovaries begin to produce reduced amount of estrogen. Many women experience this in their 40’s but it can also hit a woman in her 30’s or sometimes even earlier.
In the perimenopausal stage, women may experience a number of symptoms that may be similar to the menopausal stage such as breast tenderness, loss of libido, forgetfulness and irritation.
Though the symptoms of perimenopause may be different for different women, tenderness of the breast is often noticed in every case. Breast tenderness during perimenopausal stage leads to a lot of pain, sensitivity and discomfort.
Most Common Symptoms of Perimenopausal Breast Tenderness
Breast swelling is one of the most common symptoms of perimenopausal breast tenderness. It is sometimes difficult to understand the swelling but if you observe and feel the breast properly you will feel that your breast has unusually swollen. If are in your 40’s and find a sudden increase in your breast, then consider it a hormonal change during perimenopausal stage. During this stage, the estrogen level dips and the levels of progesterone go up. These two hormones fail to work in harmony causing breast swelling.
Breast pain is yet another important symptom of perimenopausal breast tenderness. You may notice pain in both or only one of your breasts when touched or squeezed with pressure unlike before. You may observe greater pain while sleeping.
In this stage, you may suddenly feel a strange pain in your breast that initially may be difficult to understand that it could be due to perimenopausal breast tenderness. But if you notice this problem regularly, then it may be a potent symptom of perimenopausal breast tenderness.
Breast soreness is also one of the main symptoms of perimenopausal breast tenderness. It is often an indication that there is a serious problem in the body. Many women in this stage are known to experience breast soreness several times in a day. Though the discomfort and type of breast soreness varies, the intensity generally ranges from mild to severe.
Discomfort with Movement
You may also experience major discomfort while moving from one place to another. This is also one of the main symptoms of breast tenderness. In this stage, you may feel a strange kind of heaviness in your breast. You may also experience a dull or aching feeling in both or one of your breasts in perimenopausal breast tenderness.
Fatigue is a very critical symptom of breast tenderness during the perimenopausal stage of a woman’s reproductive lifecycle.
This is considered to be an ongoing sense of weakness, low levels of energy and tiredness in the body. Due to low level of estrogen in the body and various discomforts due to breast tenderness a woman in this stage often feels fatigued.
During the perimenopausal stage with breast tenderness, you may also observe a lot of joint pains, body aches and back pain. Though these aches can occur due to other reasons also, it helps to pay attention to other perimenopausal breast tenderness symptoms.
If you find that you are suffering from more than two important symptoms, then it may be a good idea to consult a doctor regarding the developing perimenopausal breast tenderness symptoms.
